When Do I take them?
What are the SAT's?

The SAT's the test that everyone dreads. Except you shouldn't, if you are properly prepared for it, then everything will be all right. So here's a little information so you're not super surprised:

The SAT's are a widely used college admittance test.  It consists of 3 sections: Math, Critical Reading and Writing.  The exam is three hours long (Yes it seems long but it is split up into 30 minute sections with some breaks in between). Each section is scored from 200 to 800.

There are many opportunities to take the SAT's.  They are offered in October, November, December, January, March, May and June.  The upcoming dates for 2014 are:  June 7.

There are multiple ways you can try to prepare for this test.  For example, you can try a SAT prep class, like the one offered at the High School.  There are also websites like Method Test Prep that can be accessed through your Naviance account. SAT Prep books are also a good idea because they have tips and practice tests that can be really helpful in preparing for the actual day.

You can register for test at the College Board website:

http://sat.collegeboard.org/home

The registration closes about a month before the tests, so make sure you register early.

Not all tests are administered at our High School, but you can choose other test centers in the area.
