Getting Started

During your Junior year you want to express your interest in playing for a college to your coaches, so that they may guide you in the process.

The best way to show your interested in a school is just to send a quick email to a college coach that you are interested in playing for, that opens up a pathway for communication and possibilities.

If you are playing your sport at a tournament or competition where college coaches are attending, then send an email to coaches from the schools your interested in with your schedule and invite them to watch one of your games.

Deciding on School and Athletic Programs

The important thing to remember is that, at the end of the day you are going to college to further your education.  So make sure that the schools you are looking at fit your Academic goals as well as your athletic goals.

If you open up communication with a college coach, you might get the opportunity to go to a practice with a team, it is important to take advantage of these opportunities because it could help you get a spot on the team or decide on the school you want to attend.

Everyone's experience is different, so make sure you talk to your parents, advisors and coaches to make the process easy for you.
