Senior Year Check List

  • Set up Calendar for Tests and Completing Applications

  • Sign up for SATs, SAT subject Tests or ACTs

  • Check your credits and course requirements for graduation

  • Narrow list of Colleges (Make sure you have at least one safety school)

  • Apply for a parent and student pin number for the online FAFSA

  • Determine which schools on your list accept college application

  • Locate other Application forms you may need

  • Check Deadlines for application and put in your calendar

  • Make appointment to talk to your counselor

  • Request Recommendations from teachers

  • Check Naviance for important information

  • Visit Colleges

  • Write your college admissions essay

September:
October:
  • Take SATs and SAT Subject test or ACT if you haven’t already

  • Send SAT Scores from the college board website to the colleges you are applying too

  • Continue working on college essay

  • Send in Early Decision or Early Action Applications

  • Check Naviance for scholarship opportunities

  • Complete CSS/Financial Aid Profile Application if applicable

November:
  • Continue all college applications, submit those with early due dates

  • Follow through with teacher recommendations

  • Research financial aid forms that are required for your colleges

  • Bring Transcript Request form to counseling office (Allow for 10 days to be processed)

December/January:
  • Finish Applications for the colleges you chose

  • Check Naviance for scholarships

  • Request Mid-year grade report to be sent to colleges

February/March:
  • Fill out financial aid forms (FAFSA by February 15th)

  • Listen for scholarship information (Dollars for Scholars, etc.)

April/May:
  • Decide what school you are going to attend

  • Send in deposit by May 1st

  • Keep grades up

  • Study for those AP exams!

June:
  • Notify Counseling Office where you wish your final record to be sent. Include any School Report Forms
