What is different?
What Are the ACTS?

The ACT's are another college entrance exam that can be taken instead of or in conjunction with the SAT's. At South Windsor High School each student is required to take the PSAT's, which prepares us for the SATs. So while ACT's can be taken, don't think that you shouldn't take the SATs. Check each individual school that you plan on applying to separately to determine what type of tests they require.

The biggest difference between the ACT's and the SAT's is that they have four sections instead of three. The sections include, math, reading and science and writing. This test is often recommended for students who are stronger in Science and Math because they often do slightly better than on the SAT Reasoning Test

There are many different ways to prepare and most are the same as with the SAT's. You can buy a prep book, which give helpful information and practice questions. From a student who has taken both the ACT and SAT I would advise taking a timed practice test before hand because there seems to be a timing differences between the two test and you just want to make sure you are prepared.
